About Rainbow Street
Founded in 2014, Rainbow Street is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation based in the San Francisco Bay Area that provides protection services to LGBTQ people in the Middle East & North Africa (MENA).
Rainbow Street seeks 3 new Board Members in 2020. People of color, people of MENA heritage, people who have experienced forced migration, and those of diverse sexual orientations and gender identities are strongly encouraged to apply. The Board sits in the San Francisco Bay Area. Applicants residing outside the Bay Area are welcome to apply.
Qualifications
Volunteer experience
A demonstrated commitment to justice-driven work (as a professional or volunteer)
Experience in one or more of the following fields:
Community organizing
Nonprofit development
Financial stewardship
Marketing & Communications
Law
Human services
Technology
History, politics, and sociology of the contemporary MENA region
Expectations
Attend bi-monthly board meetings and committee meetings. Meetings are held remotely and in person.
Fulfill a three-year term with the possibility of renewal.
Meet an average time commitment of 1-3 hours per week.
Make Rainbow Street a personal philanthropic priority.
The process
